Vaccinations

Prior to your pet's arrival we require that you mail, fax, or e-mail a copy of your pet's vaccination information.  If you are a client of Valley Veterinary Hospital or Squibnocket Animal Center we will get the proper documents for you.  If the vaccines need to be updated, as clients of either animal hospital, we will make an appointment for your pet at either hospital to make sure your pet is set prior to boarding.    All vaccinations, stool (fecal) tests, and blood tests must be current at least 48 hours prior to boarding.

We strongly recommend that you make an appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible for your pet's health exam and any necessary tests or vaccinations prior to boarding.  All doggie guests  must have or be current with the Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine a minimum of 48 hours prior to boarding to reduce the possibility of contracting this upper respiratory condition.

A pet is a family member and can react the same way humans do to vaccinations.  As a reminder, please consider vaccinating your pet at least 1 to two weeks prior to boarding your doggie or cat to ensure your pet does not have any side effects from the vaccines.  Please monitor your pet carefully for any signs the first few days after vaccinating your pet and alert your veterinarian immediately if you notice any abnormal conditions.  We suggest spreading out the vaccinations over a period of time to reduce any reactions and recommend you review what vaccinations are mandatory for your pet.   For further information about vaccinations please refer to
www.healthypet.com or to our medical library through www.squibnocketanimalcenter.comVaccines must be administered by a licensed Veterinarian.

1 year or 3 year Distemper Vaccine or Titer Blood Test
1 year Bordetella Vaccine (Kennel Cough)

* Your paperwork must indicate if stool is negative prior to boarding.  If your pet is positive for intestinal parasites your pet will not be able to board at Marta's and you will be refunded any $ you deposited.
